A country legend and a rock icon have joined forces.
Dolly Parton is teaming with 4 Non Blondes singer and music mogul Linda Perry to write a soundtrack for the forthcoming film Dumplin’.
The compilation will feature Dolly collaborations on six new songs co-written with Linda and updated versions of Dolly’s previously released originals.
“The Dumplin’ project has been such a joy to work on! Can’t wait for y’all to hear it,” Dolly captioned an image of herself collaborating with Linda.
According to Billboard, the film is based on Julie Murphy’s best-selling book about a plus-sized girl who competes in a beauty pageant to defy her mom, who is a former pageant queen.
Jennifer Aniston is set to star.
Look for Dumplin’ in theaters sometime this year.
