On May 13th at around at around 7:05 p.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Haines Avenue and Country Road for a car-vs-motorcycle crash. On arrival, police located the involved pickup truck and motorcycle. Bystanders were performing life saving measures on the injured motorcyclist. A medical unit arrived to the scene, and the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased. After speaking to witnesses, police determined the crash occurred as a pickup was making a left turn from Country Road to head south on Haines Avenue. The motorcycle was northbound on Haines Avenue and collided with the pickup. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as RCPD Crash Investigators work to reconstruct the crash. The motorcyclist is identified as 19-year-old Cameron Murphy of Rapid City.
