Nemiah started a lemonade stand and instead of keeping the funds for herself, she is raising the money to support her mother and her needs. As of KVIA News published article on April 28th, Nemiah had raised more than $1,100 selling lemonade hoping to get to $1,600.
A GoFundMe account started afterwards by Nemiah shows now they have raised just over $5,000, surpassing the goal.
As for Paloma, the doting mother said she’s proud of her daughter.
“We never expected to get to this point,” she told the Sun-News. “We want to say thank you to the community because you guys are making this possible. You helping my little girl feel, you know, empowered that she’s able to do something for other people.”
