TMSG: Community Rallies Around Clerk After Losing His Transportation

By: Mike Linksvayer
Jim Johnson has been a worker at Bel Air in Roseville for nearly 30 years. He lost his transportation to work not once, but twice. First his car engine blew up and he was unable to afford repairs. Then he transitioned to a bike, which was stolen during one of his shifts.
After three decades of taking care of customers as a courtesy clerk, this time the customers stepped in to take care of Johnson. Someone donated a bike to Johnson, then another created a GoFundMe account to buy Johnson a car. In just days, more than $3,700 was raised by 77 people.
Johnson told CBS Sacramento he never knew he made an impact on so many people, “It surprised me. I just thought I was doing my job.”
