TMSG: Police Officer Adopts Puppy He Rescued From Burglary Suspect

Louisville Metro Police officer Jeffrey Emerich discovered a puppy on March 7th after he arrested Dezmond Jones at a traffic stop. Jones was stopped after being accused of harassing a woman and breaking into her home.

The puppy was pushed underneath the passenger seat completely covered by urine, freezing cold, young and thin.

Jones was arrested and charged with second-degree cruelty to animals as well as second-degree burglary and harassment. As far as the young puppy, the furry little one is headed home with his new officer dad. Officer Emerich decided to adopt the puppy and give it the life he deserves.

He told WDRB,

“Dogs just don’t deserve that,” Emerich said. “They deserve a really wonderful life, and I’m hoping I can give that to (the puppy).”
