Pursuit

On February 25th at around 3: 20 a.m., police observed a vehicle travelling north on Lacrosse Street. Police recognized the vehicle as being associated with known warrant subject, 29-year-old Leon Plumman of Rapid City. The officer recognized Plumman as the driver. A traffic stop was initiated in the area of E. North Street and Racine Street. The vehicle did not stop, and a short pursuit began. The vehicle came to a stop in the alleyway between the 100 blocks of E. Adams Street and E. Monroe Street. Plumman took off running from the area. Police caught up to him after he fell to the ground. He was placed in handcuffs. After a search of the path Plummen took while attempting to flee police, officers located a syringe cap and several jewelers bags which field tested positive for methamphetamine. Plumman was placed under arrest for Eluding, Obstruction, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and two Warrants.
