Stop Telling Justin Timberlake He’s Making a Country Album!

Justin Timberlake is setting the record straight once and for all.

Following weeks of rumors that he’s planning to release a country album, the former NSYNC member took to Instagram to confirm that his new project Man of the Woods is not country.

Rather, Justin explains the album’s title was inspired by his 2-year-old son Silas.

“By the way, the album is named after my son. His name means ‘of the woods,’ so stop telling me I’m making a country album,” Justin says with a laugh.

While the album isn’t classified as country, Man of the Woods pulls from country influences, namely the genre’s male powerhouse vocalist Chris Stapleton.

In a separate clip, the “Filthy” singer adds his and Chris’ collaboration, “Say Something,” reminds him of “The Allman Brothers or the Eagles” because “it’s nice to hear men singing together again.”

Chris, who Justin calls a “true artist,” also lends writing credits to two additional tracks on the album.

Man of the Woods drops Friday (Feb. 2).
