Luke Bryan Aspires To Perform Super Bowl Halftime Show

Luke Bryan performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in 2017, but he’s hoping his performances at the Big Game don’t stop there.

In an exclusive interview with CMT’s Cody Alan, the country star reveals he hopes to one day headline the Super Bowl halftime show.

“I just have to somehow get the right people to let me do the whole halftime show,” Luke says. “We’ll see. You never know. [I’ll] have to do some booty shaking for the Super Bowl.”

The “Most People Are Good” singer also recalls his “The Star-Spangled Banner” performance at Super Bowl LI, calling it “the most pressured situation” of his life.

“I didn’t prerecord it, didn’t do any tricks,” he adds. “A lot of the people that were doing the Super Bowl didn’t like the fact that I was going to stand up there and do it a Capella. Sunday morning, when you wake up and you know at 5:32 P.M., no matter what happens, you’ve got to walk your butt out there on the 50-yard line and sing the anthem…it was pretty surreal.”

Justin Timberlake will get the surreal experience of headlining the Pepsi Super Bowl LII Halftime Show when the Philadelphia Eagles takes on the reigning Super Bowl champion New England Patriots Sunday (Feb. 4) on NBC.

Luke will get his stadium performance fix on his What Makes You Country XL Tour, kicking off May 31 at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.
