Traffic Stop

On September 28th around 12:40 a.m., police observed a passenger car with non-functional brake lights in the area of Cambell Street and E. Saint Patrick Street. A traffic stop on the vehicle was conducted, and the vehicle came to a stop in the area of Cambell Street and San Francisco Street. The driver initially gave police a false name, but was positively identified as 23-year-old Gilberto Aguilera of Pine Ridge. It was determined that Aguilera had an active warrant and he was taken into custody on said warrant. While conducting a pre-tow inventory of the vehicle, police located marijuana, a baggie containing a substance which field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and two pistols. One pistol was concealed under the driver’s seat, and the other was concealed under the vehicle’s center console. Aguilera was arrested on the additional offences of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Ingestion of a Controlled Substance, Concealed Weapon without a Permit, Possession of Marijuana, and a Probation Hold. He was transported to the Pennington County Jail.
