Sundance Head performs on “The Voice”; Tyler Golden/NBC(LOS ANGELES) — The top four on The Voice took the stage Monday night for part one of the season-11 finals, with a record contract on the line.

Team Blake Shelton’s Sundance Head, Team Adam Levine’s Billy Gilman and Josh Gallagher, and Team Alicia Keys’ Wé McDonald all performed three times. Miley Cyrus has no artists left on her team. Each artist performed a cover song, a duet with his or her coach, and an original song.

Billy Gilman led off, representing Team Adam with his cover of “My Way,” by Frank Sinatra — a song his coach felt described the former country star’s career and journey on the show. Adam summed of Billy’s performance by asking him, “How do you not feel like you’ve just won The Voice right now?”

Team Adam’s other remaining member, Josh Gallagher, followed with “Pick Any Small Town,” an original song he wrote with a couple of friends, including another Team Adam contestant, Nolan Neal, who was eliminated earlier this season. Blake Shelton gave the tune a thumbs up, noting that being raised and still living in a small town in Oklahoma, he could relate to the song. Adam said he could picture Josh singing the song on The Tonight Show.

Next, 17-year-old Wé McDonald joined her coach Alicia Keys for a due on Stevie Wonder’s version of the standard, “Ave Maria.”

Sundance Head, from Team Blake, was next with his original song, “Darlin’ Don’t Go,” dedicated to his wife. The emotional song drew a standing ovation from the audience and coaches. Blake jokingly thanked Sundance’s wife for almost leaving him and inspiring the song.

Gilman returned, with his coach this time, to perform a duet on the Everly Brothers’ “Bye Bye Love.”

McDonald performed her original tune, “Wishes,” written by songwriter Harold Lilly, whose songs have been recorded by Alicia, Brandy, Fantasia, Luther Vandross and One Direction’s Zayn Malik. Keys was proud of her artist, calling her “The truth.”

Gallagher returned for his duet with Levine on “Smooth,” by Santana featuring Rob Thomas.

Sundance Head then joined his coach Blake Shelton for a duet on a song that was originally a hit for the contestant’s father, Roy Head: “Treat Her Right.”

The final song of the night for Team Adam’s Josh Gallagher was a cover of John Mellencamp’s “Jack & Diane.” Adam’s advice for his artist: “Have the time of your life.”

Sundance returned with his cover song, “At Last,” by Etta James. Blake said it was like “Somebody reached back in time…and found this classic, iconic vocalist that went undiscovered and plopped him down on the stage in front of us.”

Gilman’s last song of the night was his original single “Because of Me,” which Levine originally wrote for his band, Maroon 5. Adam called the performance a defining moment for Billy.

Wé McDonald closed out the show with Barbra Streisand’s “Don’t Rain on My Parade,” from the 1964 musical Funny Girl, hoping it would show a “happier side” of herself.

The winner will be crowned on Tuesday night’s two-hour season finale, which begins at 8 p.m. Eastern time on NBC. Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Kiss, The Weeknd, Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Sting and Cam will be the musical guests.
