Candace Cameron Bure Announces Her Exit from “The View”

ABC/Lou Rocco(NEW YORK) — Candace Cameron Bure is the latest co-host to leave ABC’s The View.

Bure announced the news during the opening segment on Wednesday’s show, explaining the decision was bittersweet, but one she needed to make.

“I’m very happy to be back,” Bure, who’d taken a hiatus from the show, told her co-hosts and the audience. “But it’s a little bittersweet today for me because I’m announcing that I’m leaving The View.”

Bure, who joined the talk show in 2015, explained that her family and new commitments, such as her role in the Netflix series Fuller House and her appearances on the Hallmark Channel, are the reasons for her departure.

“Because of the success of those, my commitments have become even greater with those shows, and the commute of going West Coast to East Coast every single week for me has been tough on me and hard for my family as well,” the actress said. “And I want to make sure that I am able to spend as much time with my children and invest in all the projects that I do to the fullest extent.”

Bure added, “So, I thank everybody. Whoopi, Joy, I particularly want to thank you for welcoming me to this table.”

With her departure, The View is down to six co-hosts from the eight with which it began its 20th season. In October, Raven-Symoné announced she would leave the show at the end of 2016 to work on a spinoff of her popular Disney series, That’s So Raven.
