Once Again, Johnny Depp Tops “Forbes” List of “Most Overpaid Actors”

ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) — For the second year in a row, Johnny Depp has been named Forbes’ Most Overpaid actor.

At issue is each actor’s ROI, or Return On Investment for a studio.

The magazine included the 2016 movie Alice Through the Looking Glass among Depp’s three most recent films in order to calculate that he only returned $2.80 at the box office for every $1 the 53-year-old star earned.

Number two on the list is Will Smith, who starred in this year’s Suicide Squad and Concussion, among other projects. His return for every dollar paid to him was $5.

Others include Julia Roberts, the highest-ranked woman on the list; Adam Sandler, and Channing Tatum.
