ABC/Tom Cruise(LOS ANGELES) — The sixth installment in Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible franchise is set for a summer 2018 release, Paramount announced Tuesday.
The storyline hasn’t been revealed yet, but Cruise’s love interest in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Rebecca Ferguson, is set to return for Mission Impossible 6.
It’s also likely that Cruise’s other recurring team members, including Simon Pegg, and Jeremy Renner will also be along for the ride, though that has yet to be officially confirmed.
Development on the latest installment in the billion dollar franchise, set to be directed by Rogue Nation’s Christopher McQuarrie, hit a snag earlier in the year over budgetary reasons.
