Warner Bros. Unveils New “Wonder Woman” Trailer

2016 – Warner Bros.(LOS ANGELES) — Building on the well-received footage from the movie’s last coming attraction, Warner Bros. has released a second trailer to its upcoming Wonder Woman film.

Again starring Gal Gadot as the superheroine who appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the new footage teases more of the period picture’s plot — how Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor crash lands in the waters near the idyllic island of Themyscira, home to the Amazons, only to be rescued by one of its inhabitants, Gadot’s Princess Diana.

She learns from him that, “the war to end all wars,” World War I, is close at hand, and only her intervention into the world of mortal men can stop it from consuming the globe.

“It is our sacred duty to defend the world,” Gadot’s character vows. “And it is what I’m going to do.”

The snippet shows all the action we’d expect from one of comic history’s most powerful — and enduring — female heroes; Gadot is shown charging headlong into battle, German machine guns set against her, and taking on an alley full of assassins in defense of Pine’s character.

The movie, which was directed by Patty Jenkins, who called the shots on Monster, the drama for which Charlize Theron earned her Oscar, opens June 9, 2017.

The superhero film also stars Robin Wright, Danny Huston, and Gladiator‘s Connie Nielsen.
