“Big Bang” Star Jim Parson Backing VA Hospital Comedy

ABC/Lou Rocco(LOS ANGELES) — The Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons will be producing a hospital-set comedy for ABC. According to Variety, Parsons, among the highest paid stars on television, will produce Lakeside VA, which already has a pilot order from ABC.

Deadline reports the show, backed by Parson’s and Todd Spiewak’s That’s Wonderful Productions, centers on a group of slacker employees toiling for an underfunded VA hospital. Things change when a hotshot head of surgery appears to whip the workers back in shape.

It’s the second show under the That’s Wonderful roof; Parson and Spiewak also sold The Terranauts to the CW. Based on a novel of the same name, Terranauts centers on a group of people who live in a biodome-like sociological experiment.
