The reboot — titled Rambo: New Blood — will have a slightly different take on the troubled Vietnam War veteran and former U.S. Army Special Forces soldier, treating him as a character similar to James Bond, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

No plot details were given for the new film, as the project is still in early development.

Based on the 1972 David Morrell novel First Blood, John Rambo has appeared in a total of four films starring Stallone — 1982’s First BloodRambo: First Blood Part II, in 1985; Rambo III, released in 1988; and 2008’s Rambo, which Stallone also directed.

Earlier this year, Stallone told Variety he was retiring his red headband, explaining that he was happy with how Rambo’s story ended with the 2008 film.

A year ago, Entertainment Weekly reported that a Rambo TV series with Fox was also in the works.
