20th Century Fox – 2016(LOS ANGELES) — Days after Deadpool director Tim Miller parted ways with star-co-writer-producer Ryan Reynolds over reported creative differences regarding a sequel to the 20th Century Fox blockbuster, a short list of possible replacements have emerged.
The Hollywood Reporter claims a “leading contender” to helm the next adventure of the “Merc with the Mouth” is David Leitch.
Leitch, was a stunt coordinator who worked on many films, including Captain America: Civil War along with his partner Chad Stahelski; the pair called the shots on another unexpected hit, Keanu Reeves’ action film John Wick.
Other names floated for Deadpool 2 are reportedly are Drew Goddard, one of the producers and directors behind Marvel’s hit Netflix series Daredevil, as well as Magnus Martens, a veteran of another Marvel Netflix show, Luke Cage.
Marvel is owned by Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
