Timothy White/E!(LOS ANGELES) — Kim Kardashian West is taking things “one day at a time” after being robbed at gunpoint in a Paris mansion earlier this month.

“It’s a process,” her mother Kris Jenner told E! News in an exclusive interview. “One day at a time. It’s a process.”

Jenner has been gathering the family around Kardashian West to make sure “she feels loved and safe.”

“She’s home, and that’s all that matters,” the Kardashian matriarch said. “She wants to be with her kids and family. It’s just family first.”

Jenner spoke out for the first time about the robbery while attending an event for daughter Khloe Kardashian’s Good American denim line.

At the event, Khloe called the traumatic incident a “wake-up call.”

“I mean, definitely it’s been an incredibly traumatic experience for Kim and she’s definitely taking some well needed and much deserved time off,” the 32-year-old said.

Meanwhile, Kardashian West and her other family members are re-evaluating their public lives.

“When you have a daughter at home who’s struggling because of something horrific and tragic that happened, you start looking around a little bit differently,” Jenner said. “I think this is a wake-up call not only for our family, but for anybody in a similar position.”

On October 3, armed robbers forced their way into the Paris home where Kardashian West was staying, tied her up and locked her in a bathroom before making off with more than $10 million worth of jewelry.
