The film again stars Johnny Depp as slurring swashbuckler Captain Jack Sparrow, though he isn’t seen in the snippet. That isn’t to say his legend doesn’t loom large in the clip: Oscar-winner Javier Bardem, his good looks obscured by freakish pale makeup, with his mouth dripping black ooze, is obviously on the hunt for the pirate.
Bardem’s Captain Salazar shows a wanted poster for Sparrow, to Brenton Thwaites’ character. “Find Sparrow for me,” Bardem hisses, “and relay a message from Captain Salazar: Tell him, ‘Death comes straight for him.'”
The film, which also stars returning leads Orlando Bloom and Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush, and apparently features a cameo from Depp’s pal Paul McCartney, opens in May of 2017 from Disney, the parent company of ABC News.
