Funny Money: Kevin Hart Unseats Seinfeld as the World's Highest Paid Comic

ABC/Ida Mae Astute(NEW JERSEY) — Comedy has a new king: Kevin Hart.

Forbes‘ list of the highest paid comedians in the world shows the diminutive funnyman is a giant when it comes to earning power — dethroning comedy’s long-time king of the hill, Jerry Seinfeld, with a haul between June 2015 and June 2016 of $87.5 million.

Seinfeld, for his part, whose yearly take includes extremely lucrative syndication and other deals for his eponymous sitcom, was bumped to a distant second place, with $43.5 million in that same time period.

For the record, Amy Schumer was the only woman on the list, with an impressive $17 million, 4th place finish.

Here’s a list of the other people making serious money at comedy, according to Forbes.

1. Kevin Hart ($87.5 million)
2. Jerry Seinfeld ($43.5 million)
3. Terry Fator ($21 million)
4. Amy Schumer ($17 million)
5. Jeff Dunham ($13.5 million)
6. Dave Chappelle ($13 million)
7. Jim Gaffigan ($12.5 million)
8. Gabriel Iglesias ($9.5 million)
9. Russell Peters ($9 million)
10. John Bishop ($7 million)

Hart’s new concert movie, Kevin Hart: What Now?, opens October 14.
