Tom Hanks Still Fanboys Over Wife Rita Wilson

ABC/Ida Mae Astute(NEW YORK) — Even after 28 years of marriage, Tom Hanks is in awe of his wife Rita Wilson.

While on ABC News Digital’s Popcorn With Peter Travers, the two-time Oscar winner and Sully star beamed about his multi-talented wife and her career as a musician.

Wilson is an acclaimed actress, but she has put out music albums as of late, including 2016’s self-titled album and 2012’s AM/FM.

The show’s host, Peter Travers, brought up her “great albums,” to which Hanks said, “She loves it too!”

“I’ve lost her man,” Hanks joked about Wilson. “I’m like Johnny Stagedoor,” he said, using an well-worn theatre term equivalent to a fanboy. “I just have her lip gloss in my pocket.”

The Oscar winner, 60, continued to gush about her. “I let her do the singing, ’cause I don’t want to scare the children and the dogs,” he joked.

Last year, Wilson announced that she was cancer-free after a battle with breast cancer. She said her husband of three decades was right by her side the entire time and promised to hit the road with her when she started touring again.

Make sure to tune in Friday for the full “Popcorn” interview, only on ABC News Digital.
