Lance Bass Says New Gay Dating Show Will Fight Stigmas

ABC/Kelsey McNeal(LOS ANGELES) — Lance Bass is the host of a new gay dating show that he says will break barriers.

Finding Prince Charming, premiering on Logo Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET, will feature 13 suitors competing for the love of interior designer Robert Sepulveda Jr.

The former ‘NSYNC singer tells ABC Radio, “This is a show you will be able to watch and finally know a gay person if you don’t know one.

“There’s a lot of stigma in our community and I think this is going to really fight those stigmas,” he adds.

One of the show’s suitors is HIV-positive, which Bass was unaware of before production began.

“It was something that I didn’t even know halfway through. I was told at the exact same time everyone else was in the house,” he explains. “But I thought it was such a beautiful story, and you’ll see, you will shed a tear the way the house responds to him and supports him.”

Bass hopes people will watch Finding Prince Charming, regardless of how appealing they personally find the contestants.

“I know a lot of people are like, There’s guys in this cast that are not for me,” he notes. “Well, they’re for him, they were cast for this guy right here, this prince charming, so every season will be different, different flavors of everyone, so I’m excited to see him hopefully fall in love.”
