ABC/Randy Holmes(NEW YORK) — While the search goes on for a permanent co-host to replace Michael Strahan on ABC’s Live with Kelly, Kelly Ripa has opened that empty chair to the general public…sort of.
On Live on Wednesday, Ripa announced the Live with Kelly & You sweepstakes, which will give a fan of the show a chance to play co-host for a day. Referencing those online who claim she’s got an easy gig, Ripa joked that it’s time for people to, “put your mouths where your thumbs are.”
The ABC show has begun taking contest entries — which could be as easy as linking your Facebook page to your application. The entries should include a bit about you, and a video showing the producers exactly why you’d be Ripa’s perfect co-host.
The deadline for entries is September 20.
Ripa has been hosting Live alongside guest co-hosts like Fred Savage, Josh Groban, Christian Slater, Anderson Cooper, and Andy Cohen since former co-host Strahan left Live on May 13 for a full-time gig at Good Morning America.
