ABC/Ron Tom(LOS ANGELES) — Netflix has picked up Friends From College, an ensemble comedy featuring Keegan-Michael Key and Marvel movie series co-star — and former How I Met Your Mother lead — Cobie Smulders.
The half-hour series centers on a group of former Harvard classmates in their 40s, according to the subscription service.
Harvard alum spouses Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco are producing the eight episode series; Stoller will direct the lot.
Nick is a comedic mastermind,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP of original content. “With Friends from College, he and Francesca have created a world that is both moving and very, very funny. We are thrilled to be working with them and this incredible cast, and look forward to audiences around the world laughing with and at these relatable characters.”
Production starts this fall in New York.
