“Suicide Squad” Crosses Half-Billion Dollar Mark

Clay Enos/ TM & (c) DC Comics(LOS ANGELES) — While the reviews may not have been kind, Warner Bros. bad-guys-doing-good mashup Suicide Squad has just crossed the half-billion buck mark at the box office.

The movie that set an August record with an estimated  $135 million-plus debut made the mint in just 13 days in theaters worldwide.

By comparison, WB’s last superhero effort, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, took five days to cross that mark.

“It is incredibly rewarding to see audiences around the world coming out in such a big way for Suicide Squad,” said Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, WB’s President of Worldwide Distribution in a statement. “We have several major markets yet to open, and expect to continue seeing strong returns at the box office for the weeks to come.”

Suicide Squad boasts an all-star cast, including Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker.
