(LOS ANGELES) — The acrimonious divorce of Johnny Depp and his estranged wife, Amber Heard, has finally been settled, shortly after video surfaced of the Pirates of the Caribbean star reportedly smashing items in a home he shared with the model and actress in Australia.

A joint statement issued by the stars was given to ABC News confirmed that a settlement had been reached.

“Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have agreed to resolve their divorce proceeding privately,” the note reads. “They are issuing this joint statement: ‘Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain.”

The statement continues, “There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity. There will be no further public statements about this matter.'”

Heard, 30, filed for divorce in May after a year of marriage, claiming 52-year-old Depp was abusive throughout their relationship.  She was granted a temporary restraining order.

The couple first met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2009 and married in February 2015. Almost immediately, the couple was dogged by tabloid rumors that their relationship was on the skids. Heard, however, shot down such reports last December.

“I try not to react to the horrible misrepresentation of our lives,” she told Marie Claire, “but it is strange, and hard.”

Depp and Heard made waves earlier this year with their now-infamous apology video regarding her sneaking her tiny Yorkshire Terriers into Australia.

This was the first marriage for both actors, though Depp was previously in a long-term relationship with French actress Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children: Lily-Rose, 16, and Jack, 14.
