“Bachelor in Paradise”: Chad Johnson Leaves, Josh Murray Arrives

Chad Johnson on “Bachelor in Paradise”; ABC/Craig Sjodin(NEW YORK) — Chad Johnson didn’t leave Mexico without uttering a few more curse words Monday night on Bachelor in Paradise.

In last week’s season premiere, host Chris Harrison sent Chad home because of his rude behavior toward his fellow castmates.

As he was driven away on Monday night’s episode, Chad claimed that the women had liked him until they realized they weren’t supposed to because he’s “bad.”

“I should not have drank that first night,” he added. He was then shown pouring himself a drink.

“Do you know how many people I got to kill?” he wondered.

When Chad left, another contestant arrived: Leah Block, who appeared on Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor. She briefly stole the spotlight during that season when she tried to plant negative thoughts about Ben’s now-fiancée, Lauren Bushnell, into his head, to no avail.

Leah had a date card in hand, and was eager to ask out Chad. She was disappointed to find out he was gone. She chatted with the other men, landing a date with Nick Viall. Initially, there seemed to be a spark, judging by their kisses by the water.

As luck would have it, Nick received the next date card. To Leah’s chagrin, Nick asked out Amanda Stanton, also of Ben’s Bachelor season. Nick kissed Amanda, too. Leah felt “blindsided” when Nick admitted to her that he’d felt more of a connection with Amanda than with her.

Things got more complicated for Nick when his former “Bachelorette” rival, Josh Murray, the ex-fiancé of Andi Dorfman, showed up and invited Amanda on a date.

Following the date, Nick had a chat with Josh and asked him whether he knew he’d been out with Amanda. Josh did know, and didn’t seem to care. Nick fumed over what he perceived to be an obnoxious attitude from Josh.

“There’s lion and there’s sheep. Roar,” Josh confidently told the cameras, as the episode ended.

Elsewhere in paradise, Carly Waddell and Evan Bass kissed, though Carly didn’t enjoy it at all. She reluctantly accepted a date card from him, and was horrified when Harrison challenged them to break a Guinness World Record — in front of a crowd — for the longest kiss after eating a habanero pepper. Despite Carly’s reservations, they set a new mark of one minute, 41 seconds.

Sarah Herron had her own romantic issues to deal with. She was hopeful for a relationship with Vinny Ventiera, after she pulled him aside and they smooched. But moments later, Vinny locked lips with Isabel “Izzy” Goodkind.

At the rose ceremony, Vinny snubbed Sarah in favor of Izzy. However, Sarah got a second chance when Daniel Maguire gave her his rose.

Leah had been confident that she’d get Daniel’s rose. Instead, both she and Jubilee Sharpe were left empty-handed, and were forced to exit paradise.

Lace Morris remains on the show, having bounced back from her roller-coaster fling with Chad. She moved on with Grant Kemp, hopping into bed with him.

Bachelor in Paradise continues tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
