Matt Damon's Comeback as Jason Bourne Wins Weekend Box Office

Jason Bourne, Damon’s first film in the Bourne franchise since 2007’s The Bourne Ultimatum, opened in first place, earning an estimated 60 million dollars.

Damon, who sat out 2012’s The Bourne Legacy, reprises his role as a former CIA assassin who suffers from amnesia.

Last weekend’s top movie, Star Trek Beyond, was the runner-up this time around, raising 24 million dollars.

The comedy Bad Moms, starring Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn, rounded out the top three, with a 23.4-million-dollar debut.

Here are the top 10 movies for Friday through Sunday, with estimated ticket sales, according to comScore:

1. Jason Bourne, $60 million.
