Kevin Winter/Getty Images(LONDON) — Ricky Gervais will be honored with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy at this year’s British Academy Britannia Awards.
He will receive the award at a gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 28. The prize recognizes “talent whose popularity and cultural impact exemplifies the uniquely transcendent quality of excellent comedy.”
Other honorees at the 2016 British Academy Britannia Awards will include Ang Lee and Samuel L. Jackson.
