Capitol NashvilleLady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley played a small showcase in Nashville Wednesday night previewing music from his upcoming solo project. The first single, “The Driver,” features Eric Paslay and Dierks Bentley, and both of those guys were there to support Charles Wednesday night. Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Charles’ Lady A band mate Dave Haywood were also spotted in the invitation-only crowd.

The 30-minute set also included Charles’ cover of the Tom Petty song “Southern Accents.” He told the audience Stevie Nicks will be adding her part to that track this week.

Though Charles is stepping out with this solo release, he stressed that Lady Antebellum will always be his main focus. His band mates Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott gave him the blessing to go forward with this side project.

Look for Charles to announce more details on his solo release in the coming days.
