“Empire” Wins Top Prize at TCA Awards

Michael Lavine/FOX(LOS ANGELES) — The Fox series Empire won the top prize at the Television Critics Association’s awards ceremony on Saturday.

The hip-hop drama was named program of the year over Game of Thrones, Mad Men, The Americans and Transparent.

The Americans won the award for outstanding achievement in drama.

Amy Schumer won a pair of awards — her Comedy Central program Inside Amy Schumer was recognized in the outstanding achievement in comedy category, and she earned the award for individual achievement in comedy.

Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm collected the award for individual achievement in drama.

The Late Late Show host James Corden emceed the TCA Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
