Matt Kennedy/STX Productions(NEW YORK) — Jason Bateman stars in the new thriller, The Gift. He plays one-half of a married couple whose lives get sent into a tailspin when their past secrets are revealed.
Bateman said it’s not a foreign concept. “There are a lot of things in people’s past that would cause them problems and obstacles to navigate if they resurfaced in their lives,” he said on Thursday’s Good Morning America.
The actor also explained because of its low budget, The Gift was shot mostly in one home that had a lot of windows, which affected when they could shoot. “That means all the night shots had to actually be at night. So that’s not good because I like to be in my PJs and slippies by seven,” Bateman quipped.
The Gift, which also stars Busy Philipps and Wendell Piece, opens Friday.
