“Ghostbusters'” Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and Others Visit Hospital in Costume

Sony(BOSTON) — Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig and others from the cast of Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot took a break from fighting ghosts to raise spirits at a Boston hospital on Saturday.

McCarthy, Wiig and current Saturday Night Live cast members Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones appeared in full costume at Tufts Medical Center, where they posed for photos with patients.

“Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center patients got a huge surprise today whenGhostbusters stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones came to visit!” the medical facility shared on its Facebook page, along with several pictures of the stars interacting with patients. “Thank you for taking the time out of filming today to put a big smile on our patients faces! ?#‎WhoYouGonnaCall? ?#‎Ghostbusters?.”

message on the hospital’s Twitter page read, “Thank you #Ghostbusters stars @melissamccarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones for visiting today!”

In addition, Jones retweeted several pictures of the cast posing with patients on her Twitter page.

A number of film stars have appeared in costume to help cheer up hospital patients this year, including Johnny Depp dressing as his Pirates of the Caribbean character Jack Sparrow in Australia, along withCaptain America‘s Chris Evans and Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Chris Pratt suiting up in Seattle.

The new Ghostbusters film, currently shooting in Boston, is slated for a 2016 release.
