Photo by: Timothy White/ E!(LOS ANGELES) — Following Kourtney Kardashian’s split with longtime partner Scott Disick, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is seeking sole custody of the couple’s three young children, a source tells Us Weekly.
Kourtney, 36, is determined to protect her kids — Mason, five, Penelope, three, and Reign, seven months — from Disick’s downward spiral, fueled by alcohol and drugs, according to the insider, and she’s met with top Hollywood divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
When it comes to the kids, a Kardashian pal tells the magazine, “She knows being with [Laura] is what’s in their best interest. There’s no turning back now and she is going full steam ahead with figuring out an agreement.”
The estranged couple doesn’t have a formal custody arrangement, but sources tell the magazine a battle over the kids would be surprising. “Scott’s friends don’t think he’ll challenge Kourtney,” notes one insider.
Adds another source close to the couple, Scott “doesn’t act like a dad at all when he’s partying.”
Kourtney isn’t the first member of the Kardashian clan to seek Wasser’s help.
In early 2013, the attorney held Kim Kardashian’s hand while heading into a meeting with her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries.
Later that year, Wasser filed divorce documents on behalf of Khloé Kardashian in her split from Lamar Odom.
