“Empire” Season Two Teaser Released

Chuck Hodes/FOX(NEW YORK) — In what appears to be the first glimpses of season two of Fox’s hit show, Empire, not much has changed.

With the words “New Music, New Money, New Power, New Season” flashing on the screen, the 30-second teaser features Taraji P. Henson as matriarch Cookie Lyon, along with her three sons: Hakeem, Jamal and Andre, played by Bryshere “Yazz” Gray, Jussie Smollett and Trai Byers respectively. “Boo Boo Kitty,” otherwise known as Anika, played by Grace Gealey, also seems to survive the first season.

One image is a definite hint at things to come: it’s an outdoor concert, where the words #FreeLucious, are prominently displayed. The teaser ends with Terrence Howard’s Lucious Lyon wearing an orange prison jumpsuit as he emerges into the common area, where Cookie’s waiting for him, seeming to show he’s still locked up when the season starts.

But does this also mean Lucious and Cookie are finally on good terms? Find out when Empire returns to Fox September 23.
