(LOS ANGELES) — It’s a short film with a powerful message about military kids whose parents are deployed, and a two-time Oscar winner is involved.
Perhaps you have seen Duracell and the USO’s viral video — a soldier serving overseas records a message for his young daughter into a teddy bear. The moving piece is tagged by Hilary Swank.
Swank’s father, although he never fought in a war, was a military recruiter who was often away months at a time. She says, “I just have a soft spot in my heart for all of these kids.”
Since 2001, more than two million children have seen a parent deployed.
