Charlize Theron Isn’t Afraid of Turning 40

ABC/Rick Rowell(NEW YORK) — Charlize Theron doesn’t understand the big deal about turning 40 next month.

“People are so concerned for me,” she tells E! News. “I’m so happy to be in my 40s and not be in my 20s and worried if I fit into my skinny jeans or whether I will be able to get into that club.”

Although she recently split with Sean Penn, Theron will likely celebrate her August 7 birthday with her 3-year-old son Jackson. “It’s so nice to just be in love with your couch and make cheesy sandwiches and just enjoy life,” she said of her home life. “It’s been great.”

At work, however, Theron is starring in Dark Places. She portrays a woman trying to find out the real story behind her mother and sister’s deaths. In her search for the truth, her character is introduced to the Kill Club, a group obsessed with solving crimes. The film, which is now available on DirectTV, hits theaters August 7.
