Liane Hentscher/FOX(LOS ANGELES) — Sean Penn sparked dating rumors when he was spotted out with Minka Kelly for her 35th birthday with friends in Napa, California last month, and the actress took to Twitter on Wednesday to quash the rumor once and for all.
In an apparent reference to the rumor, Kelly, 39, tweeted, “Not my nature to address gossip but hoping this last one goes away already. Not dating a friend I had a group dinner with.” She added the hashtag, “#Sillymedia”
“Sean and Minka have been friends for a long time,” a source told People magazine at the time. “It was just a group of friends out to dinner and purely platonic.”
Charlize Theron, 39, broke off her engagement to Penn, 54, after they attended the Cannes Film Festival in France together in May. They’d been dating for a little more than a year.
