Report: Cobie Smulders Breaks Leg, Drops Out of HBO Movie

Tony Behar/Bravo(LOS ANGELES) — Cobie Smulders reportedly has broken her leg, forcing her to drop out of an HBO movie.

Us Weekly reports the Avengers actress had been set to begin work on Confirmation, a movie centering on Clarence Thomas’ Supreme Court confirmation hearing, and Anita Hill’s accusation of sexual harassment against him, in 1991.

However, she broke her leg, and she’s not sure how she did it.

“She said her leg started hurting so she had it checked out,” a source tells the magazine. “And that she must’ve done something to it without realizing sometime earlier.”

Smulders would have played Harriet Grant, chief counsel, Judiciary Committee Nominations Unit. She has yet to be replaced.

Kerry Washington will play Hill, and Wendell Pierce will portray Thomas.
