“Jurassic World” Wins Fourth of July Weekend Box Office

UniversalArnold Schwarzenegger couldn’t terminate Jurassic World‘s winning streak at the box office during the Fourth of July weekend.

For the fourth consecutive weekend, Jurassic World was the top film. The dinosaur flick raked in an estimated 30.9 million dollars. It has now made a total of 558 million dollars at the domestic box office to date.

The Disney/Pixar film Inside Out was a close second over the weekend, collecting 30.1 million dollars.

Terminator Genisys, featuring the return of Schwarzenegger to the Terminator series, opened in third place, with 28.7 million dollars. It’s raised 44.2 million since it hit theaters on Wednesday — an underwhelming total, considering it cost 155 million to make the movie.

Channing Tatum’s sequel Magic Mike XXL also had a disappointing debut. It pulled in just 12 million dollars over the weekend, settling in fourth place. It has made 27.1 million since it was released Wednesday.  However, it only cost a reported $15 million to make.
