Courtney B. Vance: 'We're in Prayer' for Bobbi Kristina Brown

Fox(NEW YORK) — It’s no secret that Courtney B. Vance’s wife, actress Angela Bassett, was close friends with her Waiting to Exhale co-star, the late Whitney Houston. With news of Houston’s only daughter with R&B singer Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina Brown, going into hospice care last week, Vance tells ABC Radio how his wife is coping.

“We’re in prayer for the family. It’s one thing after another. It’s just too much,” he says. “Her daughter? It’s just it’s too much. It’s too much, too much pain.”

Vance adds that the tragic incident reminds us all to be more of a community.

“We gotta take care of each other. If there ever was a message, that’s a message from Whitney,” he tells ABC Radio. “You’ve got to take care of the blessing that you’re given.”

Vance is one of the many stars in Terminator Genisys, the fifth film in the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led franchise. The actor takes on the role of Dr. Miles Dyson. “He invents an operating system that you know, much like the cloud, where all the devices are uploaded onto it, it’s about to go online and something happened,” he says of his character. “And that’s where the story really begins.”

Vance says if moviegoers have never seen a Terminator film, they shouldn’t have a problem with catching up. He adds, “With this one, they hit the reset button and they go back in time, which changes everything. It’s very brilliant actually because it allows for people who don’t know the series to actually, all the young folks, [to learn more about the film series.] It’s fun.”

Terminator Genisys, also starring Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney, is out Wednesday.
