Rose McGowan's Agent Leaves Agency Amid Buzz over Firing Tweet

Mark Davis/Getty Images for Women In Film(LOS ANGELES) — Rose McGowan initially claimed that she was dropped by her agent after taking to Twitter to slam a casting call as being sexist. On Wednesday, McGowan said via Twitter that she’d been fired by her “wussy” acting agent for pointing out “the bull**** in Hollywood.”

McGowan reportedly had been repped by Sheila Wenzel and Steve Muller at Innovative Artists.

Then, McGowan said Thursday that Wenzel has left the agency, and the departure was in the works before McGowan took to social media about the casting call, as the actress confirmed in a new tweet.

She tweeted, “Sheila Wenzel is a wonderful agent that ceased working with Innovative before my firing. She’s a good, strong woman I’m proud to know.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Innovative issued a statement saying, “Sheila Wenzel, Rose McGowan’s primary agent, parted ways with Innovative before McGowan’s tweet yesterday.”

On June 17, the former Charmed actress shared a screengrab of a casting note on her Twitter page, which advised those reading for the female role to show off cleavage and wear form-fitting clothing.  And she also hinted at the male actor involved with the film, although she did not name him directly.  McGowan tweeted, “Name of male star rhymes with Madam Panhandler,” adding, “hahahaha I die.”  That post fueled online speculation that she was referring to Adam Sandler.
