Celebs React to Supreme Court Same-Sex Marriage Decision

Chris Haston/NBC(WASHINGTON) — Celebrities wasted little time reacting to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling today that gay couples have the constitutional right to marry.

“#MarriageEquaility!!!! A giant step towards our country being a better place to be!” Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy creator and producer Shonda Rimes tweeted.

Added Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, “Wow. Another historic day for #MarriageEquality!”

Liza Minnelli, in a statement sent via her publicist, was one of the first celebrities to share an opinion on the historic ruling.

“I have always said that everyone has the right to love who they love and today, with the historic decision from the Supreme Court, I am so happy it is now the law of the land,” she said.
