Dustin Diamond Gets Four Months in Jail for Ballroom Stabbing

Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office

(LOS ANGELES) — Although Dustin Diamond was found not guilty of a felony after a three-day trial, the former Saved by the Bell sitcom star still received four months in jail.

Wisconsin Judge Paul Malloy sentenced Diamond on Thursday after he was found guilty May 31 of carrying a concealed weapon and of disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors.

Diamond, 38, pleaded not guilty to recklessly endangering public safety after he was accused of stabbing Casey Smet in a bar in Milwaukee on Christmas Day. He testified that his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz, had been involved in an altercation with a group of people and he was just trying to protect her. While he admitted that he did have a pocket knife, he said he only showed it to the people fighting with Schutz as an intimidation tactic.

Schutz was found guilty of disorderly conduct.

Diamond must report to jail Sunday.
