Rick Ross Arrested for Assault, Battery & Kidnapping

UMG/Jonathan Mannion(NEW YORK) — Less than a month after he was arrested on marijuana possession charges there, police in Fayette, Georgia have arrested rapper Rick Ross — this time for something more serious.

Ross, 39, was arrested Wednesday morning by U.S. Marshals and charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery, according to the Fayette County’s Sheriff’s Office. The arrests were the result of an investigation into an incident on Ross’ property that allegedly occurred June 7.

Though the Sheriff’s Office doesn’t describe the nature of the incident, Atlanta’s WSB-TV reports Ross was having some work done on his home when he allegedly got into a fight with one of the workers. Ross is accused of pistol-whipping the worker during the fight. TMZ reports the kidnapping charge is because Ross wouldn’t let the worker leave the house.

Another man, 42-year-old Nadrian Lateef James, was also arrested and charged with aggravated battery and kidnapping, the Sheriff’s Office says.

Ross was booked under his birth name, William Leonard Roberts. Both he and James remained in custody as of Wednesday morning.
