“Jurassic World” Holds Off “Inside Out,” Remains Box Office Champ

Universal(LOS ANGELES) — The new Disney/Pixar film had a big debut, but it wasn’t enough to knock Jurassic World out of the top spot.

For the second consecutive weekend, Jurassic World was the number-one movie. It earned an estimated 102 million dollars — the second-best domestic performance ever for a film in its second weekend of release, trailing only the 103.1 million raked in by The Avengers in 2012.

Disney/Pixar’s animated film, Inside Out, opened in second place, with an impressive 91.1 million dollars.

Thought it received rave reviews, the comedy Dope only raised six million dollars for a fifth-place debut.

Here are the top 10 movies from Friday through Sunday, with estimated ticket sales:
