Hilaria Baldwin Reveals New Baby Came Early

Jamie McCarthy/NBC(NEW YORK) — Hilaria Baldwin has not been shy about sharing her pregnancies. Now, the Extra correspondent is clearing up some misconceptions about the recent birth of her son Rafeal.

She and husband Alec Baldwin welcomed their second child on June 17, earlier than expected, the yoga instructor explained.

Responding to comments on social media, Baldwin posted a belly-baring photo of herself on Instagram, along with a detailed explanation. “This is for those of you who are getting into some pretty serious arguments with each other about if I had a c section or not…this should clear it up: as you can see from this pic, I did not have a c section,” the mother of two wrote.

She went on to address why she stayed in the hospital for a few days after the birth.

“Rafael came a little early (nothing extreme) so we just wanted to stay an extra night and make sure all is ok,” she wrote. “Due dates are estimates and he came out a healthy weight. I’m actually lucky because given another few weeks, he would have been HUGE!”

Baldwin added, “We are overjoyed that we have a healthy little boy and also that I am feeling well.”

This wasn’t the first photo Baldwin posted showing off her post-baby bod. Two days after his birth, Baldwin posed in her underwear in the hospital bathroom to give women a more realistic picture of a woman’s body after pregnancy.

“I have been planning on doing post belly photos but didn’t know if I was gonna have the guts to actually follow through,” she wrote. “I hope you understand my intention here: I believe it is important to accept and love our form after going through a bit of a battle bringing life into this world. Deep breath, here we go…all the way from my glamorous hospital bathroom ??”

Hilaria and Alec, who are also parents to two-year-old Carmen, announced their son’s birth last week with a picture on Instagram.
