Hulu Building Real-Life “Seinfeld” Apartment in NYC

Hulu announced Joseph Del Valle/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty ImagesThursday that in celebration of obtaining the streaming rights to all nine seasons of the hit series Seinfeld, the online video service is building in New York City a replica of the Upper West Side apartment in which “TV Jerry” lived on the show.

Guests will be able to visit the interactive apartment, allowing them to imitate memorable on-screen moments including George Costanza’s boudoir photo shoot and Kramer’s characteristic barge-ins.

Hulu’s head of marketing, Jenny Wall, notes in a statement, “Seinfeld is one of those rare shows that continues to influence pop culture to this day, so what better way to launch its streaming debut than to celebrate the fans and give them a chance to relive the scenes from some of the most iconic moments in TV history?”

The event, titled “Seinfeld: The Apartment,” will begin June 24, to coincide with the series’ Hulu launch, and run through June 28. The free exhibit will also feature displays of props and rare memorabilia from the beloved show.
