British Police Investigating Theft of New “Fifty Shades” Book

Penguin Random HouseSomeone couldn’t wait for the release of the latest Fifty Shades book.

Kent Police in southern England are investigating the theft of a copy of Grey, E.L. James’ new book in her best-selling series, the BBC reports.

A police spokesman says, “Officers are making inquiries after receiving a report that a book had been stolen on 8 June.”

Grey is scheduled to be released by Penguin Random House on June 18, the birthday of the fictional billionaire Christian Grey. The fourth book in the Fifty Shades series tells the story of Grey’s relationship with college student Anastasia Steele from his point of view.

The original book trilogy has sold more than 125 million copies, while the Fifty Shades of Grey movie grossed more than 500 million dollars worldwide earlier this year. The first film sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, will hit theaters in February of 2017.
