Raven-Symoné Named as New Co-Host of ABC's “The View”

ABC/Lou RoccoThe View has a new addition to its panel.  Actress Raven-Symoné, who’s made 37 appearances on the ABC talk show as a guest co-host, has officially joined the show full time.  She’ll join moderator Whoopi Goldberg, plus current co-hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rosie Perez.

In a statement, Raven-Symoné said, “Being a part of The View family will be a wonderful growing experience for me. The cast and crew are warm and welcoming and has made the transition into daytime talk easier.”

She added, “I have a lot to learn within this new arena, but being the apprentice of these spectacular women will only make me a better person and talk show host…Let’s have some fun!”

Barbara Walters, creator and executive producer of The View, said in a statement, “Raven-Symoné is a welcome addition to The View. She is happy, amusing and well informed, and has already brought a unique perspective to the program that has resonated with our audience.”

Raven-Symoné, who’s also a singer, is best known for appearing on the TV shows The Cosby Show, Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper and That’s So Raven.  She recently guest starred on ABC’s black-ish and Fox’ Empire.  She also had roles in the movies The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Dr. Dolittle and Dr. Dolittle 2, and starred on Broadway in Sister Act.
